DECLARATION
Second meeting the FIRE FIGHTERS UNION Visegrad 4 countries, held on 20
and 22 September 2012 in Bojnice with Firefighters unions – Czech Republic,
Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. As guests attended, Deputy EPSU and leaders Fire
and Rescue Service in Slovakia.
Firefighters union the Visegrad 4: Union Firefighters Union Czech Republic,

Union Slovakia, discussed various aspects of social systems, fire and rescue corps
member countries V4 Particular attention to the impact of the economic crisis on the
fire and rescue brigades and their social system and their own funding.
During the negotiations confirmed the persistent discrepancy between available
financial resources and the roles of fire and rescueteams to perform. This has
a negative impact on the provision of basic fire and rescue task forces and also for
their social security.
All participants in the meeting Bojnice unanimously declared that the interior
ministers of the Visegrad 4 countries should pay more attention to the continuous
reduction of operating costs and firerescue teams, because this reduction threatens
their functionality, resulting in a threat to publicsafety.
Duty members of the National Councilis to adopt such laws to ensure full functionality
of the fireservice relating to the constitution alright of the citizens to get quick and
immediate assistance.
Firefighters unions the Visegrad 4 are aware of the consequences of the economic
crisis and its impact on the individual Member States. Promote effective measures
his Ministry of Interior to mitigate its impact on fire and rescue brigades.
Firefighters unions the Visegrad 4 have agreed to submit the following
recommendations to the Ministries of the Interior of the participating States and
Parliamentarians:
1. Continue the development of social dialogue within Firefighters unions on
social security firefighters Member States, parliamentarians and prevention of
their decisions without proper consultation, investigation and possible
confrontation.
2. Take steps to increase social assessment affecting firefighters with respect to
their specific role in the company and for other future changes to take into
account the parameters of the Member States of the EU and not let handicaps
that would affect the responsiveness of churches.
3. In social security, respecting the principle of compensation limits the
performance impact of fireservice (e.g. prohibition of strikes …)
4. The next meeting of Firefighters unions the Visegrad 4 will be held under the
chairmanship of the Czech Republic
The statement is written in Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Slovak and English, and all
versions are identical and are made in 5 copies, one copy for each union and 1 copy
for EPSU.
